I am still in the process of applying for SSI for my disabilities. It is pending.

I have found that too, that if I were an alcoholic or drug user then I could get other benefits that is not now available to me. I gave up drinking alcohol over 15 years ago, with the exception that I did and do have a glass of champaign on New Years. I am not an alcoholic so I could drink in moderation but I like to be sober as I do get much more done this way.
