Seem pretty straight forward to me. Obey the law. Didn't Jesus go to the cross willingly because he did exactly as the Bible says in Romans? He obeyed the law even though it was going to kill him?
In order for Jesus to go to the cross in "defiance" of the governing authority would not the governing authority have to have said "Jesus, don't you go get crusified! Don't you do it!" and then Jesus did it anyway? that would be "defiance"
