There are more important things to find funding for besides a theatre group. How about the Homeless Shelter, Walden Center, the museums, that foundation that builds homes for people who can't afford them? The BOCC, aka, the taxpayers, should use staff money and time to find funding for a theatre group? Oh, please.

As far as working in St. Mary's and living in Calvert....and running for office in Calvert.....
There are people who want to "save the arts" and they give money to this kind of project. I would give my money to the homeless shelter.

Doesn't the article on Baynet say that the non-profit offered to get a benefactor to replace the handler but the county said no? They have a benefactor but the county doesn't seem to want to use their money. I know, seems like the BOCC has better things to do, but they didn't want to allow the benefactor that the non-profit found even with their own oversight of the project.

I've been working there for a couple of years. I like the people I work with. I would miss them.
