Over 20 years...in Lusby...in a 45 year old house.
I am VERY happy that the value of my house has gone up strongly...but it hasn't been because of new housing...its been because PEOPLE WANT TO MOVE TO A QUIET RURAL SETTING....and if you strenuously limit the number of homes being built,...the value of the homes here goes UP.
How does this jive with my small government philosophy you ask?
easy:
We are caretakers of this earth. Stewards. Rampant growth is irresponsible, ugly, greedy, destructive, and an eyesore.
(1A) answer: We are suppose to be caretakers of this Earth. That is a far cry from being good caretakers. Growth, no matter how you use it, is caused by people, more people, that is. So as the population in this country grows so does ALL Other Growth, Common sense tells you that. If you want the children that are in school today to pay for your no/slow growth in this county, you must remember something. The cost these children will have to pay will be tripled or more because of your nearsightedness.
And to top it off, growth was not slowed because of the population growth I mention above. PLAIN OLD COMMON SENSE of which the educated must use to benefit from their education. Very Simple ... all you do is think before doing or saying. |
