He's cute! Definitely looks like he could be an akita mix! Sometimes shelters and adoption groups don't quite label the dogs correctly. I'm sure it's hard to guess at it sometimes, but sometimes it's quite obvious that they call it something they think is cuter or better so it'll get adopted.
