WOW that's no coincidence. It has to be a defect as well as a serious safety issue. I guess going lightweight has it drawbacks when the mfg choses to skimp on supplies during production to lighten the weight of the trailer (which is what i'm guessing is the reason for thinner materials in this particular area of the unit), and i'm sure it's not reflected in the price.
