| I went to my first NASCAR race there. I also always loved to watch the races there with the rough, rock-filled asphalt they have there glinting in the sun and reeking havoc with the tires. It was always a good race. I could never figure out why the attendance was low. I think if they held the race there later in the season rather than as the second race, people would have been more in the mood to sit outside all day. It's still cold there that early in the year. I guess the NASCAR powers just won't be satisfied until there is one race in every state and they are all held on 1.5 mile tri-ovals. |
