| Dealt with the system in Calvert since my son was 3 and diagnosed autistic. He attended Calvert schools all the way through Patuxent High School. I'll admit I had no luck at all with Appeal Elementary. I had to send him to Calvert Country above Prince Frederick and then to the Middle School. A long bus ride, but worth it. Patuxent High was excellent in that they taught him more functional living skills. He stayed there until he turned 21. Now he goes to the Center for Life Enrichment and they supervise him in a job. Been through lots of IEP's and had concerns about his future. Between the school, the Health Department and social services, I got answers. |
