I bet they will try to sell this bill as a revenue increase for the state to use the money for something like gun victims or something, but you are right the buearocracy involved in keeping track of all this will eat up all the tax revenue and maybe more.
By the way, it is not all liberals that support stupid gun control and it is not all the liberals fault all the time either they get proposed and passed. Case in point, Giuliani, Romney and Sarah Brady are all Republicans and have endorsed or called for bonehead gun control laws in the past (and some still are).
