We have an RV and camp within 250 mls alot! Alot of campgrounds have cabins or rv/trailers for rent.
Jellystone in Va has a tremendous kids area, but you have to reserve NOW! it gets packed in the summer, same goes for Harpers Ferry KOA (tubing/rafting nearby), Gettysburg KOA and Little Drummer Boy in Gettysburg PA also good choices. We're going to Bethpage Camp ground in Va (off 17 towards Roanoke) next weekend (withrentals). Jellystone in Lancaster County PA was another choice.

Best way is to google map an area and under Find Nearby type in campgrounds. Most have web sites and reviews available. Remeber - all you need for kids is a place to get dirty and place to swim and they're happy! I like to camp in the mountains in the summer and southern coastal area in the winter.
