| 1. Surplus! There should never be a budget surplus! If there is a surplus then people are being over taxed.
2. Close the borders. Complete waste of resources, and we'll go broke trying. The only way to get rid of illegals is to force the SSA to crack down on fraudulent and duplicate SSNs and force employers to fire anyone with a bogus number.
3. Iraq. Treat Iraq the way we treated post-war Europe and Japan.
4. Race. Good luck.
5. Taxes. Good luck.
6. Fuel. Federal, state, and local governments need to treat oil and gasoline the same way they have successfully treated water and electricity, and sell it on a not-for-profit basis.
7. Colleges. We need abandon the idea that anyone can go and complete college so long as they have money. A kid who can barely graduate high school isn't going to make it in college regardless of who picks up the tab, hence the 17% graduation rates in many public-financed colleges.
8. Health Care. Two things: Migrate people away from traditional health plans and into Healthcare Spending Accounts (HSAs) where they control their money and it stays with them regardless of how often they change jobs... and it's only about $45 a month so anyone can afford it. Second, get people to shop for their healthcare the same way the shop for everything else and stop writing doctors blank checks.
9. Infrastructure. There are billions of dollars already available for infrastructure. The problem is priorities not $$$. The state of Minnesota gave millions of tax payer dollars to the Twins, Vikings, and University of Minnesota to build luxury stadiums while their bridges were falling out from under them. If they want to use their bucks to build stadiums, that's their bad.
10. National Security. Allow our warriors to make war, and not some legally scrutinized and approved conversion of opinion with guns. War results in people dying and stuff getting blown up, so let the folks do their job and quit trying to fight a nice, safe, war. |
