| Sterotyping at the Bus stop...
I couldn't help to compare two behaviors of kids waiting at 2 different bus stops I get stuck behind on the way to work:
a) Calvert Cnty...Bus pulls to a stop with lights. 2 kids bolt across the road and load up. Bus accellerates,...15 seconds passed.
b) PG Cnty...Bus pulls to a stop with lights. 8 kids ( 30 yards from the corner)
look at the bus, have no books or book bags...saunter/swagger across traffic and painfully slowly load into the bus....3 minutes passed.
Both were Middle/High school students....the only noticeable difference?
Race.
If I am an employer/business owner stuck behind a bus-----who might I show more interest in hiring in two months when they come looking for summer work?
I want someone who will be on time, greet customers properly, dress presentably, be aware of how urgent situations are, and be quick to follow directions....hmmmmm. Tough choice here. |
