Look at the statistics. If it weren't for the vocal homosexual community, AIDS would be a minor disease in the US and would not merit the funding it has received.
More people have died of influenza and pnuemonia in the last 30 years than have died from AIDS. Yet the public perceives AIDS as a major disease we should all be concerned about, while influenza is just an inconvenience.
