I've said it before - if the cops show up to a house I'm at (or my house) and I'm not guilty of any shady activities, I'm not running away. If I were to run away, then I take fate into my own hands. Personally, I'd be afraid of being shot.
But of course, it's always easier for the family to blame others (usually the police) instead of admitting that fate always wins. He got what he had coming to him. It was only a matter of time and his time was up.
