If a Black Gentlemen were to step in and defend the elderly woman--and further violence followed: It would be labeled "Black on Black Crime"
If a White gentlemen were to step in and defend the elderly woman--and further violence followed: It would be labeled: "Racist sparks violence on MARTA."
I thought about the elderly woman...say 65 or older: does she have memories of sitting in the back of the bus? Searching for the back door of the theater? or Marching for the right for her vote to be counted?
Her generation endured...and helped right the wrongs...what is this generation doing: Making more "wrongs?"
Someone needed to use some passive resistance and come sit down next to that woman so she was not alone....we need a lot more courage and a lot less "protest." |
