It is the same reason IMHO that the black community votes almost exclusvely (D). They know the dems will pander to them and although it seems at face value that dems will do more for them, in the long run it is just keeping them in the place they have been in society for a while now. If we would stop pandering to them, they would have to get themselves on their own two feet and then become truely equal.
That is why I stand by my belief that in general democrats are more racists than republicans. |
I personally agree with Bill Cosby’s stance on Black America . I believe people didn’t agree with the event(s) in which is decided to express his opinions (events that were suppose to be uplifting) and honestly some people don’t want to hear the truth. The population of African Americans in America is 36 million plus… I’m not sure that I would say “most” black people support Al Sharpton and/or Jesse Jackson all we know is what’s shown in the media. I for one can say my family fell off of the Al & Jesse band wagon a long time ago (when things started being for show). Although Bill “challenged” Black America he will be the first to acknowledge well that the economic opportunities of many African Americans can’t compare to whites.
I can’t speak for ALL black people when I say this but I don’t have to “fight or earn” my equality because
I AM equal. The issue is whether Caucasians view me being equal. For instance, when I graduated from college I knew that my chances of being unemployed was greater than that of my counter parts & when I did find a job I would be making less than my white counter parts (don’t believe look at the stats). That’s where the inequality exists.
Also, I don't know if I would say "the Dems pander to black people", I think they may have more understanding of the needs of Black America because truthfully speaking things are not
always equal. I believe most African Americans have been taught (generation to generation) to vote for Dems & the Dems are aware of this and go after the vote. Personally, I don't affiliate myself with either party, I affiliate myself with the candidate.
