Upheld the standards of the Republican party. Man you ARE crazy. |
Why am I crazy? McCain hasn't been a fervent supporter of gun rights, repeal of Roe v. Wade, conservative judges, tax breaks, stopping illegal immigrants, etc. So why would anyone who "claims" to be a Republican ever consider voting for a guy who had frequenty gone against those principals?
Some people watch fire fighters in the middle of a raging forest fire running around with torches setting even more fires and that's just crazy to them! "Those guys are supposed to be putting fires out, not starting them!" Of course, these folks don't understand the concept of a fire break to destroy the original fire. I see this election the same way. The best chance for Republicans to survive the next four years and take power back in 2012 is to get a raging Liberal fire to burn up all their support.
And for me personally, I was against attacking any candidate based on his religion and I was opposed to attacking spouses. I was told that this was a dumb view because "they always do it to us!" Well, that's true but we significantly lowered the bar on those issues, and it's going to come back to haunt Republicans, and whn it does I'll feel good about not going off the deepend with you guys.
