Voting record is very important, no doubt. But it's not an acurate metric for what work someone has done in the Senates. Anybody can vote for someone else's bill, but someone else did all the work to make it happen. For example, I heard a McCain spokewoman today again giving credit for designing The Surge to McCain when McCain had nothing to do with it besides voting for it. Condi Rice was the brains behind the design and execution of The Surge and fought with Rumsfeld to make it happen. All McCain did was say "Yea" when the vote was taken. Based on that we need Condi as President and not McCain.

So, I think you should go back to the Illinois records and look at all the bills that Obama wrote and that others voted on.
