However while comparing all the candidates, Obama's race was a plus for me; just like I'm sure it was a minus for many others....

Now was his race the only reason I voted for him?? No, but it was a factor. Its funny to see people say that his race isn't a factor, when that is what he is getting killed for. White people were so surprised when they heard the Rev Wright stuff, but stuff like that is nothing new for the average black person in America. We've heard stuff like that before, that's why we dismissed it so easily. I know many people who I love and respect who share many of Rev. Wright views... Do I agree with them?? NO. Do I call them out on it?? NO. Race is the thing that people always point to because it's such an obvious thing; its more of a cultural thing.. Blacks and Whites are different culturally... It is what it is.

That is why I love coming on this board; people reveal more of their racial side on the Internet because they can hide behind their monitor. I see people taking shots at Waldorf and I ask myself, Why is that?? Waldorf isn’t the “Ghetto” like many on her have portrayed it to be. However, Waldorf is one of the fastest growing black populations in Maryland, and I have always felt welcomed; but I see there are allot of people in S. Maryland who don’t want people like me here.
Waldorf's getting bad.

Before I continue, let me say that just because event a happened before event b, it does not mean event a caused event b.

Event A: More blacks move to Waldorf.

Event B: Crime goes up.

I'm not saying or insinuating in any way that crime's going up because the black population is going up, nor am I saying blacks are the only people committing crimes.

That said, you can see why there is concern, can't you?

I was deeply offended by Rev. Wright's comments, but it's a non-factor to me when it comes to Obama. I went to church and I remember Bill Simpson helping me out a great deal during the worst times of my life. I don't know or care what his politics are. I wouldn't throw him under the bus for it.

The election isn't about Rev. Wright's political views. It's about Barack Obama's views.

The whole Wright story was trumped up by the Clinton-supporting left wing media and by Republicans. It's a non-issue.
