back then you would build an engine to push the trans and differential, today you build a modest engine and rely on the trans and differential to make its work easy.

You can run it on an engine with that much compression, just have to build it right and run good gas mostly.

I dont think my trans or diff lead a very easy life at all...lol. The Mustang is an 11:1, naturally aspirated small block, stick shift car on a drag radial.
