The unemployment rate in Maryland is still low. The latest numbers for April show 3.7%. That's still far below the average for the last 30 years.
Even the national rate, 5.5%, is pretty low if you look at the historical perspective. 2002, 2003, and 2004 were all worse. And the early 80's and 90's were far worse.
The only people in Maryland who are unemployed are those who choose not to work. There are jobs available for anyone who wants one.
