Isn't "Social Promotion" where poor little Johnnie or Janie is
promoted to save their self esteem?
Whereas "grade retention" is where you get held
back due to poor grades?
So, if they are holding kids
back, and then not accounting for them when they graduate (it's: "grade retention" not "social promotion") where do they go?
I don't understand where you account for the kids that are held back in such huge numbers. It also seems to me that the system is actually cracking down on "social promotion" and making kids study better or they
will be held back due to "grade retention".
