I quit doing that when one day I had a den with three access holes. Poured about a pint of gas into each. Stuffed blankets into each. Let the fumes build up then removed a blanket and threw in a match. BOOM! Damn thing went off and blew burning leaves and debris out of each hole for about 50' . I spent about two hours runnings around stomping out little fires in the woods.
That's about the time the fishhook idea was recommended to me.
