Question: Will St. Mary's county animal control come get a groundhog if I trap it myself? I've just discovered that I have at least 3 in my yard. I know as a kid we used to trap them, put the cage in the back of the station wagon and release them out in the sticks, far away from the house. I'd prefer, however, not the put the smelly bastards in my car if somebody else will pick it up for me.
Of course a .22 would be preferable to all that effort, but I'm in too heavily populated an area to be safe. And the people in the townhouses behind me would probably start shooting back.
