Those things all started when blacks didn't have access to the institutions already in place and they've largely continued out of habit.
...with the exception of BET, which every black person knows actually stands for "Black Evil Television." *shudder*
And it really bothers me when people say "blacks have to have
their own" or "blacks think ____." Do you think there's some kind of big forum meeting that every black person in the country attends and we decide what our common position is on something?
(Just 'cause some people want a separate Black Miss America pageant doesn't mean the rest of us do.)
