Okay, about BET? Yes, I am black. And BET unabashedly supports the objectification of black women (and otherwise) and the perpetuation of "thug culture" in relation to black Americans. BET is terrible for black people. That is all.

Actually you're misunderstanding the term "black national anthem." It's not actually a "black national anthem," nor is it "official." The spiritual song "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" is a standard Methodist hymn that was adopted in common use during the civil rights movement. It was given the nickname of being the "black national anthem" because of how commonly it was used among the black community and the fact that most black Christians (read - most black Americans) know or are familiar with the song. It's not like a council of black people sat down and said "Let's make an anthem!"
