Netroots Nation Hypocrites Slammed by Leftie

The organizers of Netroots Nation - a gathering of liberal bloggers - say that Fox reporters can’t go and cover their convention unless the reporters identify themselves as “opinon media.” MS/NBC and CNN do not have to do this at this liberal bloggers convention.

I would let this one go……but I know someone at CNN - and to protect that person’s job won’t identify - who said that when he/she files a story with an editor that has criticism of Senator Obama which he/she believes is factual and fair, the story criticism comes back watered down…this does not happen to the person’s filed story when the criticism is of Senator Clinton or Senator McCain. This has never happened to me at Fox. No one has ever told me what to say or not. (And, as an aside, when I worked for Ted Turner at CNN, it never happened to me there, either.)

….and while I am on the subject, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? Netroot Nations think they have not marketed their opinions? they are not “opinion media?” Give me a break!

Netroots Try to Label Fox News as ‘Opinion’

“Fox News calls itself fair and balanced, but it’s not,” Josh Orton, political director for Netroots said in an interview. He accused the network, which is popular among conservatives, of misrepresenting itself.

The Netroots, however, may not get their way.

A spokeswoman for Fox News called the policy a “predictable stunt and a moot point” since the network would not be sending anyone to cover the four-day conference that kicked off in Austin, Texas, on Thursday.

Fox News doesn't have a branding problem obviously. The Nutroots is just trying their best to stifle any dissenting voices. Since they can't win a debate with facts, shoot the messenger.
