The more reading I do on the South Ossetia war, I'm finding it harder to find a "good guy" on either side. It's easy to take offense against Russia as being a bully, but it's the same reaction people have to the United States when they take military action - they assume that the one with huge military is just pushing someone around.
As I read over the conflict over the past several years - this has been seething for quite some time now - it becomes easier to see why the Russians might intervene. Who's lying? It was only 17 years ago these guys were all Soviets. Are the Georgians attacking civilians and Russian citizens? Who's in the right?
Generally, I like Jindal although his marginal support of permitting the teaching of intelligent design in school has given me second thoughts.
