:dur: Just came across this thread. Interesting read. Very much changes my opinion.
I agree that the "aggression" tests she conducted were a bit bizaare. My dogs head would be on the chopping block in an instant if he were ever given an aggression test.

(hers or any for that matter, he's a bit mental).
I don't understand putting a dog down simply because it has the possibility of being aggressive. ALL dogs have that potential if you bug them enough.
In my dream world I'd have a no kill shelter that took in nice dogs, mean dogs, retarded dogs, crippled (but not suffering) dogs etc.... I know in reality that's impossible. But I've had mean dogs before (mostly little yappy ones), and they do bite. I've been bitten loads of times by my (or other people's) semi-retarded mean dogs while growing up. Never considered putting them down. I guess it was just different times.
There really weren't any dog "issues" amongst anyone where I grew up. Most of the dogs roamed freely and made their rounds to everyone's house for a visit. I'm certain that is not the "norm", but it's just how it was where I grew up in redneck rural WV.
Okay, I'm digressing, I'm done now.
