It would also be an easy one politically because no ones head on the left spins around and hurls pea soup when you say "Secdef Gates".
Hagel and Lugar are not good choices. For anyone; too limited military backgrounds. In my opinion.
Clark would be a partisan pick and show Obama is as political as anyone and would not be a sign of hope and change.
