| It's sad how short most American's memories are. They seem to forget that it was the Republican party that was the bearers of the Civil Rights Movement. And in fact, it was the southern Democrats who for years adamantly slowed progress in women's rights and civil rights.
The day the Republicans rebrand themselves no longer the party of the Bible thumpers will be the day I come back home to them. I am not religious, and you don't have to be religious to be moral. Unfortunately, for too long have they slowly polarized the party and pushed themselves into a corner and lost focus on what's really important.
I am socially liberal but fiscally conservative, old school small government conservative. I'd be libertarian if they had a chance at winning. |
