The decline was simply based on the simple fact that the Democrats had launched a campaign in the Letters to the Editor to dishonestly slam and discredit their oponents.
I'll mention: The letter from Mary Ann Chasen |
The 4 Republicans attended the LoWV Forum in Leonardtown this past Wednesday?
And, let me get this straight? They backed out of the forums at the last minute because Mary Ann Chasen wrote a letter? You can type that and still vote for these guys? LOOK at what you wrote. A sweet little old lady has intimidated these 4 Republican kittens so much that they won't go out to a public forum?
Should they get elected, what happens when the citizens start throwing arrows and daggers at these guys for decisions they take while in office? They'll have far worse scrutiny that Mary Ann Chasen can dish out. That said, I hope they don't have to deal with that. They can't handle it, and that is already proven.
As for Mr Softball, he wouldn't go to a forum. As you said, he did decline. Too much class to accept and then back out the day before. Forums were never a part of his campaigning, and he makes no bones about that. He can get along with anyone, and that will serve him well should he be elected. That makes him the complete opposite of his opponent, and a good choice.
