Perhaps these people are actually suffering from another affliction and PEST is merely a symptom:
Obsessive-compulsive anal-retentiveness coupled with an overdeveloped sense of drama, and spoiled brattishness.
Maybe they should come up with an name for that and rethink this whole PEST nonsense.
