Nope... I mean just like the new one... except 3 columns instead of 4. The old one only had 2 columns.

I was just offering up some constructive criticism. Notice that I didn't say it was bad. In fact, I said it was quite good.

If you want to see bad, check out http://www.worstoftheweb.com

Neither did I. Just that it's harder to navigate so many uneven columns across the page. Most people read left to right, no zig-zagging across the page. But I've been looking at it for a while now, and I can see that some of the headers are stationary and only the text will be changed for updates. I like the weather and the search features that were added.

It was just the initial shock of not being able to find what I was looking for. I probably won't even look at the right hand column again (no offense to the merchants and sponsors) because there's already a link on the left-hand menu for them.

People had the same sort of complaints when the forums changed oh-so-long ago.

I couldn't imagine going back to the old ones now.

I had the same - information overload - where am I? - did I go to the wrong site kind of feeling that it seems hit everyone else. Jazz has a point though - I didn't like the new forums either but now I can't hardly remember the old ones!

That's what I told David - that people were bent when we went even from the WAY old crappy forums to the first upgrade.

Thanks for the positive feedback and, to all you critics, keep those cards and letters coming! Ya'll made some good suggestions that we'll take a look at.

I am enjoying the new look - the front page still doesn't sync to me - that whole eye movement thing, but it looks a lot better than in the preview. So I know it will only get better

Marketplace is fantastic - I love the fact that the business listed are linking to their sites.

Calendars being divided up into different types of activities is wonderful and again I love the linking. However I am not real fond of the boring blah color on the main calendar, but nightlife really pops out.

I really didn't notice any difference on the news page.

And that's all I have checked out

Other than getting my cool new somd email address. Too great!

Thanks you guys for all the hard work.

1024x768 - Running Netscape or Mozilla. It actually looks fine in both but I haven't tried all the links yet.

Now for the $64,000 question. Has anyone looked -inside- somd.com?
Yes...and I like it!

Did find a few probs though...

Under "Newest Sponsors" - These links didn't work for me:
The Trains Database
BAE Systems
Pressed for time
Sign and Numbered

IE 6.0 with 1024x768 resolution on a 19" monitor...
not really a tight fit... just don't like more than 3 columns on a webpage... that's all
