Need a little scanner help

Folks,
I could use a favor from a few of you. I am playing with an application to try to look into various means of changing the scanner feeds a little. My hope is to add a display to each of the feeds so that users can not only hear the audio but can see the actual scanners display as well.

If you are willing to try it out. It's pretty simple.

Download and Install Free ProScan Client @:

http://www.proscan.org/ProScan_Client_1_7_Build_4.zip

Once installed. Start the program.

In the Server IP Address or Name put:
216.36.16.97

In the Servor Port BOX put:
5002

This will be for St. Mary's only at this time. If you would be willing to give this a try and just post your thoughts into this thread I would appreciate it. I am trying to figure out how I might be able to go about putting a display similar to this up for the feeds. But I need to do some testing first to see what impact I should see on my bandwidth usage.

You may wish to kill the actual SOMD.com feed temporarily if you try this as you will hear a delay on that one as opposed to this one.

Yep I see ya. Let me know how it works for you. The websites feed may lag about a minute or so behind this one.

Oh and also don;t forget to play with the view settings. You can make it small and put it anywhere on your desktop and also set as always on top if you want to. I find Display Only (Borderless) works well for me

Ok, first thing I see is that the audio gets very choppy and broken if I refresh a web page or do any net related activity. I have a 768Kb/s DSL line. The other scanner feed didn't breakup no matter what I did.

The goal is to use this display, or something simialar and try to pair it up with the audio from the existing feeds audio. In other words not use the audio from this software. I hope to do some sort of a Screen Capture type deal and feed this display through WinAmp, Media Player etc.

Looks like there are three people using it now.

Just downloaded. My audio is actually much clearer with this. Haven't had any audio disturbances when surfing or using other programs.

Thanks. I'll leave it up for a day or two and see how things go. Then will make a decision on which direction to go. I am guess the display feature would be nice but I am also guessing users should have the choice to select the display or not for bandwidth saving reasons.

This isn't going through an offsite server like the SOMD feeds so I may run into upload bandwidth issues.
