Rick's has the pizza, Cerro Grande has the Mexican and Okada has the Japanese. Emily's for lumpia. I make the best cheesesteak. Best for the area...IMO.

AND, while we're at it, Rick's has a better cheesesteak than at least two Philly joints.

![]() Bee ess. Pizza place on 23rd. Chinese place on, if memory serves, 7th and 23rd or so. I actually was happy with the pizza because I was in a 2am state of hunger, though it was pretty crappy. The Chinese place was just tragic.

![]() Obviously there are places in Philly or NYC or wherever else that won't have as good of pizza or cheesesteaks or chinese food as the "best" in other locales...not everyone can be great, especially when you have random people in that city making the city specialties to lure in tourists. But I've been to a ton of places in NYC with better chinese and pizza than anything this area can come close to offering. Rick's cheesesteaks are ok, but I've had better without ever having been to Philly. Okada is a pretty good Japanese place, so we have something in town at least. None of the other Japanese places are that great (especially Asahi...I mean, seriously?). And I haven't been to Salsa's yet, but the rest of the Mexican places around here aren't anything special. They're all 'ok'. But then again, once you're used to something, then having something that tastes different may not hit you the same way it would hit other people experiencing it for the first time. That's the only reason why I can explain Asahi, Cerro Grande, and Monterrey's are so popular ![]()
