Computer hangs up

For several months, when I try to view "Latest Local News Headlines" or the obituaries it hangs my computer up. I have to push cont/alt/del (several times) to finally get it to get unstuck. I did email the admin about it a while back but never heard anything. Anyone else have this happen?

Not saying you have a virus; but this doesn't necessarily sound website specific. You might need to run your anti-virus/adware/spyware programs.

Go into your ad remove programs and get rid of the ones that are newly installed with odd names.
cant remember the names, (and I usually write these things down as I do it) but I found odd keys in the registry and linked them to programs, then I went in, found them in the ad remove area and got rid of them.
everything cleared up. and my speed was back too.

I'm a little scared to delete programs if I'm not sure what they are. What do you mean you found odd keys in the registry? Sorry, I'm a little computer challenged.

Since last summer this behavior has been happening on Metrocast to all the computers in my house. Especially with using Firefox. When I take my computer to work or a non-Metrocast place its fine.

OK, I just did this and deleted a program called "Cyberlink Power Director". Took about 45 minutes to uninstall. So far, knock on wood, I'm not getting froze up when I go onto those sites.
