From what I understand it's no different than selling Avon.

i know of two people personally, the same person set both of these girls up. Had them order way to much to have in stock and charged it to their credit card number and when she felt like it she ordered them more stuff. more than the even needed getting started... one of them has quit it already and had to sell her stuff at half price just to get her money back to pay off the card.

I am sure it is no different, but Mary Kay reps are like Nazi's and the Avon reps are not.

My Avon rep never calls and bugs me to put on shows and ask for the names of my friends.

The Avon rep probably realizes you have few friends and those you do have can't be helped by Avon products.

Depends on where you live really. If there are already 50 Mary Kay reps in your area, you have screwed yourself already. I think that Mary Kay, Avon, Longaberger, etc. are all probably good businesses to get involved in depending on your personality and the area you live in. I also think nowadays it is only good for part time income.

That is probably true considering a good majority of my friends either don't wear make-up or are male.

Give it a rest, already... Or at least in one area of one thread in one section in one group of one portion of somd.com, for at least part of the day.

Thats b/c Avon doesn't do shows.

I know several Mary Kay reps and they don't bother me to book shows or ask for the names of my friends.

I think it all has to do with the rep and how involved they get with selling the products.
