Say you know something the scanner is much better when I listen it through Real Player for some reason. anyone noticed?

try plugging the scanner into speakers like the ones on your computer. The sound quality is so much better and it makes it easier to understand. You should always be able to hear dispatch clearly. Sometimes an officers portable will be in a poor transmission location and there is not much you can do to improve that. Which antenna are you using? The little flexibale whip is the best one for police and rescue frequencies.

As opposed to what? (Not trying to be a smart azz) I seem to get really good transmission on my computer and I use Window's Media Player Version 10...

Actually I did played it through Windows Media and compared it to real player and I did noticed the transmission is better. Before it was very saticly but now it's much clearer. Well mostly, they must have fix it..
