Looking for local gerbil breeder

Does anyone know of a gerbil breeder in Southern Maryland?

I am planning on getting gerbils again, after the holidays, and would like to get healthy stock from a breeder rather than the inbred pet-shop variety.

I am not particular as to color, though I do generally prefer the natural agouti color.

I am experienced with gerbils, so I know what I'm doing: I had an (accidental) breeding pair I bought from Petco (the cage SAID they were all males...they weren't), who produced 42 babies over 18 months. 22% of the kits died of genetic problems due to inbreeding, but Othello (3 1/2 years) and Desdemona (3 years) lived long happy lives. They even have a (closed) file at my veterinarian's.

I also had three girls who lived together, who were quite happy.

When the time comes, I will be building a lovely new cage for the small furry things (the plans are on the drawing board), and can present my resume of pet experience to any breeder who would like to check on me.

So, does anyone out there breed gerbils?
