I have excellent references and look after cats, dogs, ferrets, and horses! (just please don't ask about spiders, lol). I even do meds and insulin shots.

She's also very observant so I'd personally feel confident that if one of my dogs was injured or ill she'd notice immediately.
We use Pam for our two dogs (and cats). One dog is not good with strangers but loves Pam. She will spend time with the dogs, give them a back rub, clean the cat litter, bring in the mail, turn lights on and off, water plants, etc. She leaves "report cards" for each visit which is nice and fun to read with you return home. She is great and the price is reasonable IMO. Also bonded and insured.

I've heard great things about the Pet Nanny. She is one who I refer to in Calvert County. I have not had the opportunity to meet her yet though.

I did find someone within 3 miles and contracted with her for our last vacation but I am skeptical about how many times she visited. I told her that we would not be returning until late Saturday evening (8:00 pm to be specific) from our last vacation and when we returned home (at that time), she had not made the evening visit. Our poor puppies eyes were floating and our cat had no food. It appeared that the litter box had not been cleaned for a few days also.

I have seriously thought about starting a business like this myself due to the fact that (1) there doesn't seem to be very many people who do it, and (2) the ones out there don't seem to do a real good job. However, I also understand that there is a lot of responsibility that comes along with it which is why I haven't pursued it because I'm not sure I could make that commitment at this time.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We are going on vacation again in May and I need to get someone lined up.

Thanks!
And I get red karma for this? After all this time? The moron didn't even sign it...so, I guess that means it didn't happen?

I never speak ill of any of my clients, actually I lucked out everyone is a client at our animal hospital. I just thought the cat story was cute. I actually enjoy the cats, and I don't remeber saying anything bad....

Pam is great! I have been referring her since I opened in Nov and have had SEVERAL very happy customers come back and thank me. A lot of people do not realize there is an alternative to boarding.
I know there are a lot of other good sitters out there but I feel blessed that we lucked out with the 1st one we tried since moving here! I trust her in my home and with my fur kids. She is someone that is meant to be offering this service because she obviously loves what she does and is pretty darn good at it!!
