I have asked several politicians over the years to put their mark on a scale with Karl Marx on the extreme left and Adam Smith on the extreme right.

Nearly all of them don't know who Adam Smith was, and almost all of them place themselves dead in the center. This is a puzzling outcome.

I am led to believe that most so called "Republican Fiscal or monetary Conservatives" don't even know what that title means.

They obviously know that Karl Marx is "bad", but they have equal disdain for Adam Smith according to the way they place themselves on the scale.

Adam Smith...the author of "The Wealth of Nations", the author that Karl Marx chose to oppose in "Das Kapital" which was a response to Smith's work.

We know much more about Karl Marx than we know about the father of our free market principles.

And, your point is?

That left wing politicians, supporters of Marx, know all about him?

I will readily stipulate that many (most?) pols don't know much about the principles they claim to support. Neither do we, the people. That is a problem.

So, what are we gonna debate?

From the way our economy is being run and was run by Republicans before , Most Fiscal Conservatives dont know what a Condom is, much less a Conundrom.

And the liberal Fiscal spenders should be wearing a condom when they shove it in the American taxpayer.

The only conundrum I see is which can spend the most in the least amount of time ,Republicans calling themselves Conservatives or Democrats calling themselves liberals. Bush had the Republicans in the lead when he left, but Obama has left him in the dust.

Self criticism.

It is hypocritical (IMO) to continuously point our fingers and cry Marxism without a collective knowledge of capitalst concepts. It is more than an intuitive notion. It is sound scientific theory and we as conservatives should be speaking the words of the teachers instead of just speaking in opposition.

You talking to the choir here, dude. I am King Kamaymaya Numero Uno critic around here of what we right wingers messed up on under Bush in terms of not speaking out. To my credit, I argued about some of it while it mattered, while he was still in office. To my discredit, much of it I ignored and cheered on my team.

If you are suggesting all right wingers should be able to basically outline Adam Smith, and Marx for that matter, on command, I agree. Especially these days when 2 minutes on the web allows you to make sure one is right about what one thinks.

PS: Anyone who claims to be a free market kinda guy and supports Bush, at all, hasn't a clue about Adam Smith. Bush is far closer to Marx on economics.

You may be singing melody, but there are too many in the choir singing off key.

A movement is born. Spread the gospel.

Based upon your previous posts, it is excruciatingly obvious these are not your words or thoughts. It appears you may be a resurrection of Nono, the infamous cut-and-paster. True?

Bull ####! How many politicians have you tried to corner and what are their names?

Are you one of those people that want a fact check on SNL skits too?

Here are some of names.

Bob Ehrlich, Wayne Gilchrest, Mark Andrews (US Senate ND Retired), Ed Schaefer (former Sec of Ag), Pete Domenici, just to name a few. I've asked the same of many more.

The question is one I ask every chance I get whenever I have the opportunity to be conversant with a pol.

Now its your turn.

An apology is in order.
