Has anyone noticed how many threads are posted regarding the driving or nondriving habits of others? You would think no one in St. Mary's County knows how to drive. :sarcasm:

They don't. We've all seen this on a daily basis. Not news. The stupid parents teach the children how to drive the same stupid way they drive. Tailgaters, pull out in front of you, cut you off, same stupid irresponsible driving that is know in Maryland.

Really, I thought it was people in Calvert who couldn't drive, unless maybe they came from St. Marys :buddies:

Do ppl really think that the drivers of those vehicles will actually visit these forums and constantly see or care that they're the topic of discussion in these useless threads?

I used to think the same thing until I moved to Florida. It's a whole new game down here, but I've adjusted and actually got yelled at by an elderly man because HE was going to slow and I passed him. :killingme

Drive defensively and you shouldn't have a problem (must of the times).

Florida drivers are just aggressive... they are horrible drivers but in a totally different way than people are here. I think people here just flat out don't know how to operate a vehicle.
BayKat, where in FL do you live?
We lived down in the Keys for 3 years, and drove to Miami about twice a month to put our lives in our hands on Dixie highway... People down there could drive - but if you got in their way then you were toast. I can't even tell you how many times we got screamed at, cussed at, etc. because we were doing the speed limit and trying to figure out where we were going  And yes, by old people!!! I vividly remember being about 7 months pregnant with my youngest, and going to Target somewhere around Kendall... we were in the turn lane and sort of hesitant to turn because the cars were coming really fast and we weren't sure when we could make it out - this OLD guy - and I mean pushing 90, who looked like he laid on the beach every day - actually got OUT of his car and came and knocked on my husband's window. My husband, being the naive fool he is, opened it and the guy stuck his head in our car and just screamed WHAT THE EFF ARE YOU WAITING FOR, MAKE THE EFFING TURN you EFFING MORON. Then he stomped back to his car. THEN my son, who was like 3 at the time and in the backseat, said 'daddy, why aren't you making the EFFING turn' :killingme
So yes, my son learned his first 'F' word down in Florida courtesy of the drivers...
That is one place where you don't even turn your head to look at the people in other cars... just stare straight ahead...

Actually it's nationwide. My daughter swears that Nebraska has the worst drivers; my son insists it's Texas. My daughter reminded my son that their grandmother lives and drives in Nebraska, which gave my son pause for reconsideration....
My vote for worst drivers goes to (drum roll, please) New Jersey! And for most terrifying stretch of road at rush hour, the award goes to....95, heading south from Ft. Lauderdale! (At least I think it was 95)
NYC drivers seem highly aggressive, but they don't want to run you down any more than you want to *be* run down. I did not get that impression with Jersey drivers and those heading home from work in Ft. Lauderdale. It was like Mario Cart.
So anyone who thinks SoMD has the worst drivers needs to get out more. They are not even close to the worst.

:yeahthat: Any road south of Ft. Lauderdale is like a race track - doesn't matter if you are on the turnpike, local roads, whatever... those drivers will ride your bumper and actually nudge your car then speed off Mario Cart is an excellent way to describe having to drive in South FL!
California ranks high up there too, in my opinion... those people just don't pay attention to the road. I used to hate when we would drive from Oxnard to Santa Barbara, can't even remember the highway - but it would back up for absolutely no reason and take forever. No accidents, no traffic problems - just people who weren't paying attention to the road and created a
cluster-F^ck.
