Where will we be this time next year?

On Tuesday night, voters in Virginia and New Jersey made it clear that they are worried about the national economy and making ends meet.

We know families in Maryland have the same fears and anxiety about the pace of our nation's economic recovery, which is why Governor O'Malley has been working hard to bring recovery to Maryland and our small businesses to create new jobs and new opportunities for our families.

But as we saw Tuesday night, a good record may not be enough to beat a re-energized Republican Party. To win next November, we'll have to fight for it — and we'll need the resources to do it.

Governor O'Malley has provided strong leadership in these very difficult times. State spending in Maryland is lower today than it was in the last year of previous Republican administration. Maryland is one of only seven states with a Triple A Bond rating, which saves taxpayers millions of dollars, and Governing magazine just recognized Martin O'Malley as Governor of the Year.

Will you continue to help Governor O'Malley provide the kind of strong leadership that our state needs in these very challenging times?

Thank you,

His campaign manager says the Republicans are re-energized.

And it looks like the editors got a hold of the note before it was sent out. The original sentence probably looked like this:

But as we saw Tuesday night, a good record may not be enough to beat a re-energized Republican Party, so that's why we haven't bothered with trying to create one.

:diva: Glad I could help.

Oh, and they're not calling them furloughs anymore. The 5 mandatory days are now called "Service Reduction Days."

I'm sure it's been mentioned but Ehrlich is considering another run at it.

I liked Ehrlich sorta, however, looking at how O'malley whooped him last go around, do you think it wise for him to run again?
think Baltimore, they have to think they are getting someone that is going to send them money. Ehrlich already has shown that he wont, we need to run someone else that they dont know is lying when he runs.

At this point I'm indifferent about it. I just found it interesting that he's considering it with the changing tide. Personally I think we need a new face with fresh ideas.

JP is a new face with some rather unheard of ideas.

I would run, but I doubt my illegals deportation and welfare reduction plans would go over so well in Baltimore city, PG and Montgomery counties.

If O'spendy wants to make ludicrous claims, he should remove the truth from State websites first.

2006 - 26B
2007 - 29B
2008 - 30B
2009 - 31B
2010 - 31.5B

Could a Democrat please explain the math that makes $31 Billion less than $26 Billion?

I'm not a Democrat, but I'll take a stab at it...

Oh gawd..... Anyone seen Kerad (aka kookrad) or Andikins?

I guess the USSS will be bursting thru my door any moment.

But just to clarify, I was referring to him being shot down in the election by the voters as in he loses, not actually getting shot.

Happy now Kerad/Andy where ever you may be. :killingme

I get it now. They're using the same accounting method that makes the stimulus a success, or massive numbers of "saved" jobs.

What did happen to Kerad? He had a meltdown and fell off the planet. Pretty sure he's back now probably as FaP.

Don't know if you know the whole story but he says he called the USSS and reported me for threatening Obammy. :killingme
Posted the USSS phone numbers and encouraged everyone to call. Of course I had fun with it by starting a series of Kerad to USS phone calls.

:ring,ring:
USSS: USSS, may I help you?
Kookrad: I want to report a threat against a POTUS candidate.
USSS: Kerad, this is getting old, hang up the phone and go bathe your mother.
Kookrad: But, this is serious! He did it!
USSS: :click:
Kookrad: :tantrum

Demorat to hard-working taxpayer translation: "We didn't spend as much of your hard-earned money on freeloaders and n'er-do-wells as we thought we were going to; ergo, 'we reduced spending.'"

Glad to help.
