bird has glue on its wings...

I put fly tape up in the barn today and i have two swallows with very sticky wings now. does anyone know of a solvent for sticky gooey glue that won't hurt the birds too much?

When my son done something similar to my mothers pet bird the only option the vet had was clipping all of his feathers off! I think this sounds like a job for Inkpen!

well i called my mom, of course she knows everything so she told me veggie oil. course there is no veggie oil in the house but! there is tack oil (for saddles, bridles). so the birds have been doused in expensive german tack oil and then dunked in soapy water, dunked in clean water, and are wrapped in a towel in my lap....

Use peanut butter...it's harmless and works like a charm. Rub some on the sticky part, and wash with soap and water.
