Ok, Celie is now 3 1/2 and 26lb. Her recent bone age skan came back normal and her RTA is under control. Any advice on other tests I might request. Had Celiacs, Sweat test, and a multitude of others done. Waiting for a "special poopoo" for a third fecal fat snd fecal elats-somethingorother test done.
Developementally she is great. Just REALLY small.

My niece is the exact same and nothing is wrong with her. The doc was ok because her height and weight were on a curve her whole life. Her mom was concerned too but it really may be nothing. As long as she is developmentally great and otherwise seems fine, maybe she is just perfect. She sure looks cute!

I'm no expert, but my guess would be a hormonal inbalance. She may also be a 'late bloomer'. I had a friend in school who was short for his age and then over the course or 3 months, during summer vacation, he grew almost a foot.

Yeah, but she is not at all on a normal growth chart. Not even for herself. It goes up and down ALOT. They know for sure she is FTT but eats like a champ alot of the time.

I'm thinking Endo. is the next step.

She is a tiny little thing. Endo check sounds like the logical next step.

How's her health otherwise?

Check here: http://www.humatrope.com/pediatric_patients/evaluating_growth.jsp?reqNavId=2.1.4 or since you already know she is FTT pehaps here: http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/nutrition_fit/nutrition/failure_thrive.html

May I ask what FTT is??
Failure to thrive. She has been to nutritionists, geneticists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, ENT, and her Ped. but no one can seem to figure it out.

I forgot to add a liver specialist, whatever they are called. Every doc. points out "strange things" as they put it but none of it together makes any sense. Last time at gastro. she had a bone age scan and it came back normal. They told me that she is "at the low end of normal" general health wise. That she will always be sicker and smaller than other kids and they may never find the cause. Other than her strange signs ,too much actual colon, slightly echogenic liver, RTA, was born tongue tied (fixed), labial fusion about a month after birth (fixed), heart murmur, lower than average liver, and prolonged periods of illness, she is perfectly happy and smart as a whip!

My 6 year old is only 39 pounds. Her doctor never seems concerned or says anything about FTT. Of course, she didn't have the medical issues your sweet little one has had.

She looks gorgeous to me! :huggy: But then, I'm used to have a very little one myself. I do hope you find out if anything is wrong...but mostly I hope you find that nothing is wrong and she's just little. :flowers: Good luck!

Sorry to hear that, glad she's a happy little girl but I'm sure not knowing is driving you up a wall. Has anybody ever looked at environmental factors, could there be something in the home affecting her? :Dr.Houseimpersonation:
Have you been in the same house since she was born? Sometimes I worry about stuff like that, we've only been in our house a few years. How would I know if one of the previous residents used lead paint or something?

We've been here since she was born and it's the house I grew up in. Thanks for the help though!
