i have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter and 1 1/2 yr old son....EVERY time we eat they finish their food in like 1 minute, and then gather around me like vultures! they will pull on me, try to grab my food etc...and i am NOT starving them! even when i keep them in their high chairs they will sit and scream for more food...and the times that i've given them more they dont really even eat it. i've had to start eating my meals while they are napping to avoid this. anyone have any ideas on how to stop this? i just want to have peaceful meals w/ the kids!

Good luck with that. It didn't happen for me until my kids were 19 or 20.

Years that is, not months.

OMG. I just spit soda thru my nose. My daughter loves to play in the dog crates too!

Just Giving My Opinion
The reason why you kids are asking or taking your food is that they are HUNGRY. Feed your children! :coffee:
The other comments were funny!

You missed the part where they said that the kids were given the extra portions, and then didn't eat them. My toddler does that too, sometimes. If she asks for food, she gets it. If she doesn't eat the extra stuff she asked for, I'm not going to pile more food on top of it that won't be eaten, either. That's when we get her out of the booster seat and say, "Dinner's over!"

If there are still more complaints, that's when daddy does this ---> :lalala:

Did you ever think of giving them MORE FOOD the first time around? It would keep them busy longer and they would ( depending on what you serve ) get more nutrion too. :smack:
