Why do we make a lasagna...

Lasagne is prepared in one pan, similar to a casserole. We say we are going to make A casserole, not SOME casserole.

Because a lasagna can be served in a 'unit'... either as a whole or cut into portions, it's a self contained meal thus leading to a reference of 'individual'. Spaghetti on the other hand is an free-flowing entity thus leading to a reference of 'many'.

All I know is, they are both better after 1 or 2 days in the fridge..They get "rightly seasoned"...................yum.

...eat 'a' leftover spaghetti. It's all in one thing. I do eat leftover lasagna, which, apparently, loses the 'a' in the fridge.

I make lasagna and I make spaghetti or a pan of lasagna or a pot of spaghetti.
