Beet pulp

We have a horse that needs to put on weight...anybody know about using beet pulp? I've used it for my goats but horses are a whole lot different. Thanks

We used beet pulp with good success for an older Arab mare that was hard to keep weight on. Free choice hay, as much as she wanted, sweet feed and the dry beet pulp mixed in with the sweet feed. I've heard people say don't feed it dry, soak it first, but we never had any problems with it mixed with the sweet feed. Worked well...
