Approx 12:15 this afternoon, St Charles Pky between St Mark and intersection with Rt. 5. northbound, 2 cars both off the road into trees on each side of the road. Trauma code is elderly lady, believe she was also trapped. St Charles Pky will proably be closed for reconstruction at St Mark Dr. northbound.

There has been several fatal accidents over the years on that section of the parkway and its always a vehicle into a tree. The road has curves in it as you are headed out toward Rt. 5., its right before the little shopping center with Nicks of Clinton in it.

The other place in St Charles that is insane is the merge from the pkwy onto Smallwood. People always lose it on that turn and end up fishtailing into the median.

I know EXACTLY where your talking about now. Gotta slow down, especially with wet roads.

You have got to slow down on that road. I have run many bad MVA's on it. People think because it's a two lane divided road they can go way above the speed limit. My prayers also go out to the families involved.

Charles County Sheriff’s officers are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Nov. 23 at 12:17 p.m., near the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and St. Marks Drive in Waldorf.

A preliminary investigation revealed two vehicles – a Chevrolet and a Cadillac - were traveling north on St. Charles Parkway where it appears the cars collided causing the drivers to lose control and strike a group of trees.

Both drivers were transported to Civista Hospital where the driver of the Cadillac, Betty Young Watson, 78 of Brandywine, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Beretta, a 33-year-old woman from Washington, D.C., was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the initial crash is under investigation. Cpl. D. Belfield is investigating.
